The Pear shaped diamond, also known as the teardrop diamond shape, is highly sought after for its elegant and distinctive appearance. Combining the characteristics of both the round and marquise cuts, the pear shape diamond offers a unique blend of sophistication and versatility. The diamond's facets reflect light in a captivating manner, resulting in a stunning display of radiance that catches the eye from every angle. The smooth, rounded curves of one end of the diamond taper into a defined point at the opposite end, resembling a teardrop or pear. This elongating effect adds to the overall allure of the pear shape diamond and makes it a popular, flattering and beautiful diamond choice for engagement rings.

At Diamond Wish we have a large selection of natural (mined) diamonds to choose from. We can supply diamonds from any grading laboratory but our most common reports for natural diamonds are GIA (Gemological Institute of America) and EGL (European Gemological Laboratories). We also carry a collection of lab grown diamonds with grading reports from both EGL and I.G.I (International Gemological Institute).
Pear Diamonds are a popular choice these days but there are a few things to keep in mind when buying this shape. Fancy shape diamonds don't have a diamond cut grade as there are various proportions that are sought after, some people like a longer and more narrow cut while others may prefer a wider and shorter pear cut, these are called ratios. A 1.55 ratio is considered a classic but a 1.70 is considered perfect proportions for a more elongated shape pear. No matter the proportions the best thing to look out for is the symmetry, very good or excellent is best.
